Gordon Philip

Managing Director

Gordon joined the company at its inception in 1984, after 5 years of training and work experience with firms of chartered accountants in London and Cayman. He previously looked after the offshore (captive) insurance management interests of the company, which provided a wealth of experience in the Reinsurance area, before moving into a dedicated Finance / Accounting role. Prior to being promoted to General Manager in mid-2014, he held the position of Chief Financial Officer for a number of years. He holds an MA in business related studies from Aberdeen University, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Seeta Paltoo

Senior Vice President – Group Insurance

Seeta joined the company in 2000. She has over 33 years of insurance experience with more than 15 years in a management capacity in Trinidad, Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean Islands and Cayman. She holds a Master’s Degree in General Executive Management (MBA); Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (BS) and Professional Insurance Designations-HIA and ALHC. She is currently the Chairperson of the Health Insurance Standing Committee of Cayman Islands Insurance Association and on the Board of Directors of the Insurance Association of the Caribbean.

Judy Campbell

Vice President – Property & Casualty

Judy joined the company over 25 years ago, straight out of high school. Having started out as a receptionist, she has worked her way up through the organization. She served as the Operations Manager of the Property and Casualty Department for a number of years, and was appointed Assistant Vice President on March 1, 2011. In this position, she is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the department. The holder of the CII Certificate, Judy is currently furthering her insurance studies.

Tania Ramsaran

Operations Manager – Group Insurance

Tania joined the company over 20 years ago. In her capacity as Operations Manager, Group Insurance Services, she is responsible for ensuring that the operations of Group Insurances Services department run smoothly and efficiently. Tania stays abreast of current industry trends through the completion of multiple training courses and seminars, and self-study and is currently furthering her studies.

Frances Patterson-Campbell

Customer Care Manager

Frances is a pharmacist and prior to joining Cayman First, held management and marketing positions in the pharmaceutical industry in Jamaica and the Cayman Islands. Frances holds a Master of Arts Degree in Marketing from Birmingham City University (formerly the University of Central England, Birmingham) a Bachelor of Science in Management Studies, from the University of the West Indies. She also holds the Health Insurance Associate (HIA) and Healthcare Customer Service Associate (HCSA) designations.

Ruth Kibe

Financial Controller

Ruth Kibe joined Cayman FIRST in December 2010 after 7 years of work experience with a global audit firm in Kenya and Cayman. Prior to joining the company, she had been involved with financial services audits and more specifically in the captive insurance industry for 4 years having served as an audit senior and Manager in Cayman. She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and is a member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK).

Kahlill Strachan

Operational Risk & Compliance Manager

Kahlill rejoined Cayman First in December 2017 having previously served as the Business Development Manager. He has been involved with financial services and more specifically in the insurance industry for more than 15 years, having served as an Auditor, Insurance Regulator and Insurance Underwriter. His most recent role as Senior Property Underwriter of a Cayman based reinsurance company exposed him to captive and commercial clients worldwide, where he provided technical and data management for the range of business underwritten.

He holds a MA in Finance along with the following professional designations; Associateship of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII) and Fellow Certified Chartered Accountant (FCCA).

Nadia Lewis-Hamilton

Underwriting Manager – Group Insurance

Nadia is an experienced Life and Health insurance professional with over 10 years’ experience in underwriting and risk management. She previously worked with Sagicor Life Jamaica Limited as Assistant Vice President, Underwriting & Risk Management. Nadia holds a Bachelor of Science in Actuarial Science from the University of the West Indies and the Associate of the Life Management Institute (ALMI) qualification.

Andrea McLennon

Claims Manager – Property & Casualty

Andrea is an experienced insurance professional with over 15 years’ management experience in the insurance industry in Jamaica. She has held senior management positions in business development, compliance and claims management with several insurance brokers, and has served as a Director on a number of boards and committees including the Insurance Institute of Jamaica and the Jamaica Insurance Brokers Association. Andrea holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Management Studies and Psychology from the University of the West Indies and various insurance qualifications, including Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
